MHP official defends detention of Deniz Göktaş with these words

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman and Konya Deputy Mustafa Kalaycı spoke at the Bozkır District Organization Ordinary Congress held in Konya. Kalaycı criticized the political party leaders who reacted to the arrest of comedian Deniz Göktaş, who is facing legal proceedings on charges of "insulting religious values" and "insulting the President" in his show titled 'Ölü Deniz' (Dead Sea) published on YouTube.

Making a statement directed at Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel and IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Kalaycı said, "Mocking the Holy Quran cannot be considered freedom of expression or thought. The only true religion that will be valid in the sight of Allah until the Day of Judgment is Islam. Happiness in this world and the hereafter depends on the life-giving messages of the Holy Quran and the peerless proclamation and unique morality of our Prophet. The owner of the religion is Allah. We have no tolerance for the disparagement of our religion or our values of faith. We advise them to get it into their heads that the Turkish nation will not be intimidated by these wretched people. We say shame on those who stand up for those who insult our religious values," he stated harshly.

In his speech, Kalaycı also drew attention to the importance of protecting social values in Turkey, arguing that such actions damage the roots of the society's faith.

MHP'S KALAYCI EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR RETIREE PENSIONS

Kalaycı also touched upon the legislative proposal prepared regarding the lowest retiree pension. He stated that the AK Party proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which envisions increasing the lowest retiree pension by 17.76 percent to 23,552 liras, will be brought to the agenda in the upcoming parliamentary session. He expressed that as the Nationalist Movement Party, they will provide all kinds of support for the improvement of the salaries of retirees, widows, and orphans, and that they will continue their work for the welfare of society.

Furthermore, Kalaycı reiterated his belief that as economic conditions become more difficult, the power of the state becomes more prominent and that Turkey can overcome every hardship.
