MHP pushes the button for Erdoğan's candidacy! 'Either early elections or...'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, in his speech at his party's congress, addressed AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding his 'This is my last election' remark, calling out to Erdoğan by saying, "You cannot leave, you cannot leave the Turkish nation alone."

Following Bahçeli's statement, which dominated the political agenda, various formulas for Erdoğan to be a candidate for a '3rd term' began to be discussed.

In this direction, a notable statement came from Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın.

"We must think about the peace of the country. Our region is a difficult region. We are in a region where wars are taking place. There is a need for a strong leader and a strong head of state. The place for a solution is the TBMM. There is no power above the Parliament. The President must be a candidate once more. The path for this is clear. The TBMM will either decide on early elections or make a constitutional amendment. This issue will be resolved in the TBMM. It is the most natural right of the Parliament to engage in legislative activities. The TBMM will solve this problem. Mr. Erdoğan must be a candidate once more. This is the essence of our Chairman's statement."
