Minister Tunç announced: Uğur Gezer arrested for 'insulting Atatürk and the President'
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that one person has been arrested for making insulting remarks directed at Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the office of the Sur Municipality in Diyarbakır.
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç had previously announced that an investigation was launched due to remarks containing insults directed at Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and President Erdoğan in the office of the Sur Municipality in Diyarbakır.
In a post on his social media account X, Tunç shared the information that the suspect, who was detained as part of the judicial investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested by the Diyarbakır Criminal Court of Peace on charges of "publicly insulting the memory of Atatürk" and "insulting the President."
