Ministry of Justice's 'Trust in the Judiciary' surveys were never conducted
It has emerged that the 'Trust and Satisfaction in the Judiciary' surveys, which the Ministry of Justice has claimed to conduct regularly for years, were never actually carried out.
It has emerged that the "Trust and Satisfaction in the Judiciary" surveys, which the Ministry of Justice has stated it has been conducting for many years, were never actually carried out.
In his response to a parliamentary question on the matter, Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated that no such survey study had been conducted, suggesting that the satisfaction surveys of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) could be examined instead. This situation has brought the Ministry of Justice's inconsistency regarding the measurement of trust in the judiciary to the agenda.
According to a report by BirGün, the fact that the surveys, which the Ministry of Justice had set as a target and claimed to have successfully completed since 2009, were never actually conducted has led to questioning of public trust in the judiciary.
The issue was brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) by Republican People's Party (CHP) MP Turan Taşkın Özer.
MP Özer requested an explanation from the Minister of Justice regarding the trust and satisfaction in the judiciary surveys that were planned but not carried out during the 2009-2015, 2015-2019, and 2019-2023 periods.
Turan Taşkın Özer also asked what studies were conducted with TÜBİTAK and what data was reached in the results of these studies. Requesting information regarding the results of the surveys stated to be targeted for the 2019-2023 period, Özer also demanded that the data obtained from these surveys be disclosed.
