'Money counting' investigation into CHP: Yılmaz Tunç responds to Ekrem İmamoğlu

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's advisor and IMM Sports Club President Fatih Keleş's money-counting footage continues to remain on the agenda.

Speaking on the subject on Habertürk TV, İmamoğlu reacted to the statements made by Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

İMAMOĞLU'S REACTION TO TUNÇ: HE SPOKE AS IF WRITING AN INDICTMENT

"The Minister of Justice came out and spoke as if he were writing an indictment," said İmamoğlu, adding, "The Minister of Justice should be the last person to speak on such matters. He kindly wrote the indictment without even taking a few hours' break."

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç responded to these remarks by İmamoğlu. Sending a message to journalist Fuat Uğur, Tunç stated the following:

'IT IS OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR US TO GIVE ORDERS'

"It is out of the question for us to give orders to a prosecutor. Upon a question from members of the press, I stated that an investigation had been launched regarding the footage. I expressed that the contradictory situations and suspicious transactions regarding the comments, statements, and documents presented concerning the footage would be clarified within the scope of the investigation.

'HIS HASTE STEMS FROM HIS GUILT'

I said that if there is a criminal element, it is the Public Prosecutor's Office that will determine it. This was not a press conference I specifically held on this subject. It was an answer I gave upon a question. İmamoğlu is acting with a psychology of guilt and in great haste. I do not want to stoop to his level. I do not even want to engage with him. Because he is someone who can tell lies very easily and knows no bounds in vulgarity. His haste stems from his guilt."
