MSB had announced the investigation results: New questions from CHP's Bağcıoğlu regarding the tragedy where 12 soldiers were martyred!

CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu issued a written statement regarding the investigation report published after 12 soldiers were martyred due to methane gas poisoning in the Claw-Lock Operation Zone. Bağcıoğlu questioned the status of the brigade commander who was retired by the decision of the Supreme Military Council following the incident.

Bağcıoğlu stated, "I extend my deepest gratitude and pray for God's mercy upon our 12 heroic sons who were martyred due to methane gas while operating in a cave to reach the remains of their fellow soldiers who had been martyred previously in the Claw-Lock Operation Zone and to ensure they were buried in their homeland."

Stating that the cave where the incident occurred had previously been used as a hospital by the terrorist organization, Bağcıoğlu noted that the presence of harmful gases in such places is natural. Emphasizing that it is mandatory to evaluate all possibilities in the planning of military operations, Bağcıoğlu said, "Therefore, it is not possible to accept this development as an exceptional, unpredictable, and extraordinary situation." He also questioned whether the dog conducting control activities in the cave had the ability to detect toxic gases.

Bağcıoğlu also questioned whether the soldiers entering the cave without waiting for orders, while an act of heroism, created a weakness in terms of discipline. Sharing the information that five doctors intervened outside the cave, Bağcıoğlu asked whether these doctors were deployed to the region before or after the incident. Furthermore, he questioned whether this tragedy had any impact on the retirement decision of the brigade commander serving in the operation area.
