Yılmaz Tunç had used the following expressions regarding the protests of citizens who took to the streets to react to the detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu: "The right to assembly and demonstration is a fundamental right. However, street calls made over ongoing judicial investigations are unlawful and can never be accepted. Those who want to disturb the peace of our nation will never be given an opportunity."
