Muharrem İnce: CHP was gripped by fear after I met with İmamoğlu

Visiting Nazilli in Aydın, Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce addressed party members and citizens. Once again, the Nation Alliance was in İnce's crosshairs.

Touching upon his meeting with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, İnce stated, "I met with İmamoğlu twice recently. I said, 'Let us help you in Istanbul.' It's not that we are demanding anything. We said, 'You won Istanbul after 25 years, look, let's not lose this place. That's why let us support you.' He thanked me and said, 'Let's sit down and talk.' After that, CHP was gripped by fear. They were gripped by fear, wondering, 'My God, why did he offer support? Is he coming back?' Calm down, I don't want anything. I just want to win the country back, that's all. I want the country to be prosperous. Our concern is the country,” he said.

Denying rumors that he might act as a mediator between the İYİ Party and CHP, Muharrem İnce said, "It is neither my right nor my place to say I will be a mediator between the İYİ Party and CHP. Ms. Akşener is the chairwoman of a party. She decides who to form an alliance with and who not to. There might also be operations being conducted against her party. We experienced these things in the Memleket Party; my İYİ Party brothers and sisters should not be offended. Let's sit down and talk with you too. Let's talk about Nazilli, let's talk about Sultanhisar, let's talk about Yalova. Even if it's at the local level, there will be places where we can win elections together. I said let's put these on the table and talk. I never had any intention of being a mediator," he said.
