Muharrem İnce sentenced for insulting the President
Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce, who was on trial for allegedly insulting AKP-affiliated President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has been sentenced to a judicial fine of 7 thousand liras.
In the hearing held at the Ankara 30th High Criminal Court, the court sentenced Muharrem İnce to 11 months and 20 days in prison for the crime of "insulting the President".

The court ruled to convert the sentence into a judicial fine of 7 thousand liras. İnce's lawyer, Halil İlker Çelik, stated that they would appeal the decision.
