Murat Kurum quick to support Erdoğan's 'Hatay' remarks: 'Harmony and coordination, friends'
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement, "If the central government and local government do not work hand in hand, if they are not in solidarity, nothing will come to that city. Did anything come to Hatay?" received support from the People's Alliance's IMM candidate Murat Kurum.
Murat Kurum, the IMM Candidate of the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, visited the Istanbul Başakşehir Football Club as part of his local election campaign.
Meeting with club president Göksel Gümüşdağ, Kurum then answered questions from journalists.
Responding to a reporter's question regarding AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech about Hatay, Kurum said, "It provides an advantage to the city for local governments to be in harmony with the metropolitan municipality at the district level, and to be in harmony with the central administration. This is what our President expressed. Harmony and coordination, friends; this city belongs to all of us, this country belongs to all of us."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Erdoğan spoke at a meeting held by his party in Hatay to introduce district mayoral candidates recently, stating, "If the central government and local government do not work hand in hand, if they are not in solidarity, nothing will come to that city. Did anything come to Hatay? Currently, Hatay has remained neglected, it has remained forlorn."
