Murat Kurum reveals the results of the latest poll on his desk! 'Our opponent was 1.5 points ahead...'
Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate for the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, shared the results of his latest election poll during a live broadcast. Stating that IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was initially 1.5 points ahead, Kurum said, "We received another survey yesterday, and I have clearly seen this in the field as well; we have moved into the lead. That is what the polls are saying."
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate Murat Kurum answered questions from journalists Ahmet Hakan and Fulya Öztürk on the "Local Election Special" program on CNN Türk.
"WE WILL FOCUS ONLY ON ISTANBUL"
Responding to criticisms from IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Kurum stated, "We will not deal with issues that are not on the agenda of Istanbul residents, we will not engage in polemics, and we will maintain this stance throughout this campaign process and beyond. During our term as mayor, we will focus only on Istanbul. The name of our campaign is 'Now Istanbul, Only Istanbul.' Why 'Now Istanbul'? We are saying 'Now Istanbul' with our 25 years of accumulation, experience, the work we have done, and our competent team; we are saying 'We will focus only on Istanbul' and 'Our agenda will only be Istanbul.' Frankly, we do not expect appreciation from an administration that practices part-time municipalism and only stops by the municipality in its spare time. Our nation will appreciate us. Let them be patient until the evening of March 31; our nation will give the necessary answer at the ballot box."
POLL STATEMENT: WE HAVE MOVED INTO THE LEAD
When asked whether he had commissioned any polls, Kurum said, "When our candidacy was first announced, we measured through the polls we conducted that we were meeting that great interest and expectation. When we first started, our opponent was 1.5 points ahead of us. We received another survey yesterday, and I have clearly seen this in the field as well; we have moved into the lead. The polls are saying this. Of course, the alliances have not yet been fully clarified. It has not been determined which candidates the parties will field, but we are doing very well. We are currently in the lead, but we will not become complacent. We are working in great harmony with our organizations until the evening of March 31. We are explaining our projects, our dreams, and our vision for Istanbul to our citizens, and with this motivation, we will be in the field, working and running until the night of March 31."
