Murat Kurum targets Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'There is only one thing he started and finished in 5 years, and that is...'

Murat Kurum, the People's Alliance candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor, attended the Diyarbakır Compatriot Meetings in Güngören as part of his local election campaign.

MESSAGE REGARDING RAMAZAN PİŞKİN

Speaking at the event, Kurum commemorated Ramazan Pişkin, known as "Philosopher Ramazan" in Diyarbakır, who lost his life following a knife attack in Fatih, stating: "I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our teacher Ramazan Pişkin, a true son of Diyarbakır who identified with the Diyarbakır Grand Mosque and always spoke the truth everywhere, a dervish of the modern age. May he rest in peace. With his wisdom unique to Diyarbakır and his prudent stance, he always stood against terror and violence. We are pleased with him, and may the Almighty be pleased with him as well. Once again, our condolences."

"THIS CHP MUNICIPALISM IS A MUNICIPALISM WITHOUT FOUNDATIONS"

Targeting the Republican People's Party (CHP), Kurum said: "What is the current CHP administration doing? They are holding 'non-groundbreaking' ceremonies. Of course, they know that if they lay a foundation somewhere, they won't be able to finish the job. This CHP municipalism is a municipalism without foundations. Look at the last 5 years; what have they done for Istanbul, for Güngören? Their failure to lay foundations is essentially nothing more than shirking responsibility. They want to shirk the responsibility of rebuilding this city, the responsibility of the earthquake, and the responsibility of Istanbul."

Continuing his speech, Kurum also targeted current IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying: "There is only one thing Ekrem İmamoğlu has started and finished in 5 years, and that is Istanbul. But our fellow Istanbulites should rest assured; we are now just counting the days and weeks. In line with our nation's decision, determination, desire, and goal, we will end this period of interregnum together on the night of March 31. We will save our Istanbul from this sluggish, negligent mindset together."
