Murat Kurum targets İmamoğlu through Akşener: 'The IYI Party leader you called your sister...'

People's Alliance IMM mayoral candidate Murat Kurum attended the Yozgat Residents' Meeting held in Bağcılar as part of his local election campaign.

Speaking after the program, Kurum targeted the current IMM administration.

Speaking about urban transformation, Kurum said, “On February 6, we experienced an earthquake that plunged our nation into mourning and affected 11 of our provinces. We laid 53 thousand of our souls to rest. 14 million of our citizens were affected by this earthquake. We were there again. Joining hands with our nation, we started the construction of 180 thousand houses in our 11 provinces in 3 months. The Republican People's Party mentality said you cannot build these houses. You cannot find the resources. We said our resource and our motivation is our noble nation. 15 days ago, our President delivered the keys to 46 thousand houses we completed to our earthquake-survivor brothers and sisters. They said we will give you free housing. They said we will provide all kinds of support regarding the earthquake survivors. Our earthquake-survivor brothers and sisters chose to side with our President again. We said we will transform the houses that urgently need transformation in 39 districts of Istanbul. The CHP-led IMM administration and the person at its head, who promised 115 thousand houses in 5 years but produced 5 thousand, then said I didn't make such a promise, who practices part-time municipalism and social media municipalism, said 'There is no need to build 650 thousand houses.' Scientists say an earthquake will happen. Should we not carry out transformation and let our people live in risky houses? This is their mentality. They have no concern for Istanbul. Remember, they said there was waste, and they lined those cars up in Yenikapı”

Continuing his speech, Kurum targeted IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu through IYI Party leader Meral Akşener, saying, "You change your path if you see the IYI Party general chair, whom you called your sister, on the street."

Kurum continued his words as follows;

“You stabbed the provincial chair and the general chair you walked with and called your comrade in the back. You change your path if you see the IYI Party general chair, whom you called your sister, on the street. Weren't these your comrades? There is pure bad faith here. There is a mentality that is built on dirty alliances, whose service to whom and where behind closed doors is clear, but who does not mention any alliance when they go out on the street. We will come on March 31 and we will hold you accountable for this waste one by one. On March 31, Istanbul will give the necessary answer at the ballot box. Istanbul is not a city that can be ignored. Istanbul is a city that must always be shown love and attention and served like a child. In this city, we will live in peace together with all our civilizations, cultures, and beliefs. The March 31 election is the election where we will make these decisions”
