Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacts to Erdoğan's 'Terror-Free Turkey': 'Which republic are you the president of?'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements at his party's parliamentary group meeting.

Highlights from Dervişoğlu's speech are as follows:

"Turkey cannot be sacrificed for the sake of a so-called peace. Turkey cannot be gifted to terrorists to make someone's power permanent.

What they call a 'Terror-Free Turkey' is a Turkey where those who govern the state are not partners in any of the Turkish nation's problems.

Oh Erdoğan, which republic are you the president of? How can you trade a 100-year-old republic for terrorism?

We refuse to be a part of this circus that we have been forced to watch for months, and we shout to the whole world that we will not be extras in this play whose script was written overseas.

Turkey cannot be belittled to the point of engaging with the murderers of martyrs while the tears in the eyes of a martyr's child have not yet dried.

Turkey cannot be held hostage for an illegitimate constitutional amendment just so those who govern it can continue to govern it until they die.

There has been no threat perception announced regarding the upper echelons of the state or the Turkish identity. Instead of the Turkish nation, there is an ambiguous community they call 'the nation'."
