Müsavat Dervişoğlu's response to Bahçeli and Bakırhan: 'Whatever the state did to the Sheikh Saids...'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements at his party's group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

In the previous group meeting, Dervişoğlu had thrown a rope at the MHP leader following Devlet Bahçeli's statements regarding Öcalan, in which he suggested that he should come to Parliament, speak, and benefit from the right to hope.

Dervişoğlu had shaken hands with Bahçeli at Anıtkabir on October 29.

Highlights from Dervişoğlu's statements are as follows:

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu criticized the palace cadres, whom he claimed are shaping the government and the opposition with his harsh statements. Dervişoğlu criticized the AK Party's goal of maintaining power, saying, "We have been warning them since they started the normalization process; this path you are on is not the right one. The only concern is to protect their seats."

'WE WILL BUILD THE TURKEY OF TOMORROW'

Dervişoğlu emphasized that the fundamental source of the İYİ Party's struggle is the Turkish nation and said, "We will build the Turkey of tomorrow." He stated that he finds the government's policies contrary to the principles of the Republic, using the expression, "They dream of a country without Turks and without a Republic; we will not be extras in this game."

'AKP AND DEM ARE THE SAME'

Arguing that there is no difference between the AK Party and the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM), Dervişoğlu criticized the goals of both, saying, "Democracy, human rights; neither of them cares. The elements that unite them are more than those that divide them. The goal of both is to settle scores with the Republic."

BAHÇELİ'S ÖCALAN INVITATION

Dervişoğlu touched upon the traffic of meetings held with Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı. Claiming that the palace cadres have reached the point of inviting the terrorist leader to Parliament, Dervişoğlu said, "They are forcing the Turkish nation to choose between Kandil or İmralı, death or malaria."

THE STATE WILL DO THE SAME AS IT DID TO SHEIKH SAID AND SEYIT RIZA

Dervişoğlu also reacted harshly to DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan's words, "We will do what Sheikh Said and Seyit Rıza did." Emphasizing the state's determined stance against terrorism, Dervişoğlu said, "The state will do the same thing it did to the Sheikh Saids and the Seyit Rızas."

'ERDOĞAN CANNOT BE A CANDIDATE AGAIN'

Expressing that President Erdoğan should not be a candidate again, Dervişoğlu called on opposition parties, saying, "Opposition parties should close their doors completely to any constitutional amendments that would ensure Mr. Erdoğan remains President for the rest of his life."

ADDRESSING BAHÇELİ

Addressing MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Dervişoğlu asked, "Do you want the terrorist leader Öcalan to come to Parliament and speak, or do you want him to be released?" He criticized Bahçeli with the words, "If you want, you can hold a group meeting in İmralı; it would suit you. But the murderer of thousands of martyrs cannot enter Parliament without stepping over our dead bodies."
