Müsavat Dervişoğlu's 'Terror-Free Turkey' commentary: He warns by saying 'There is no laying down of arms'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu was a guest on Kürşad Oğuz’s program broadcast on Halk TV. Dervişoğlu made important statements regarding the current agenda. The most striking part was his assessment of the new process initiated under the name "Terror-Free Turkey."

“THERE IS NO LAYING DOWN OF ARMS, JUSTICE IS BEING DYNAMITED”

Dervişoğlu stated, “There is no such thing as laying down arms. If a process creates a sentiment that, if you participate in this process, it will ensure that this person goes in and that person comes out, then dynamite has been placed at the foundation of justice. This is a very bad situation.”

REFERENCE TO THE RESOLUTION PROCESS: “THE SAME THEATER”

Recalling the resolution process of the past, Dervişoğlu evaluated the current developments as “a new version of an old scenario.”

"NO POISON IS SERVED IN A TIN CUP"

Regarding the 'Terror-Free Turkey Commission' planned to be established in Parliament, Dervişoğlu noted the following:

When reminded that they had announced they would not participate in the commission, Dervişoğlu said that he did not make this decision alone, but that it was taken unanimously with all the party's authorized bodies. Stating that the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process is just packaging, Dervişoğlu continued:

"That is the packaging. But no one is talking about a Turkey without terror. People are talking about constitutional amendments. They are talking about legal regulations. They are talking about Abdullah Öcalan benefiting from the right to hope. They are talking about him gaining his freedom."

"THEY RETURNED TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM"

Stating that he does not see a process of laying down arms, Dervişoğlu continued his words as follows:

"I mean, 30 terrorists left their weapons in a pile and burned them. They returned to where they came from. I have said this many times. We experienced a similar event in the mobile courts established in Habur.

But even there, in order to take refuge in one side of justice, those incoming terrorists were ensured to give statements in order to benefit from effective remorse.

Although they took down the Turkish flags and Atatürk posters so as not to be a provocation element where they gave their statements, at least there was something.

Now, in this ceremony of laying down arms, which is claimed to be carried out under the supervision and control of the state, the terrorists came. They left their weapons. To the question of why you are not handing over your weapons, they gave the answer that a guerrilla does not hand over weapons. Because they said if a guerrilla lays down arms, they would have accepted defeat. These are sentences I selected from their statements. I mean, I am not making them up. They left their weapons.

They returned to where they came from. Therefore, they adhered to things that are considered important in terms of mythology for themselves. Rituals... I mean, burning, coming out of that cave, returning to the cave afterwards, weapons were left. The weapons were not taken into judicial custody, they were not identified.

No one felt any concern regarding ballistic examinations. None of those who came applied to benefit from effective remorse.

They did not record their names, they did not have them written down. I mean, all of this is a... But a segment also says, "a new era has begun in Turkey. This is a very beautiful thing."

Look, it is very beautiful. Of course, who wouldn't want a Turkey without terror, but both those who govern this state and this society must realize that a Turkey without terror cannot be built with terrorists. Who could want a Turkey without terror more than I do?"
