Mustafa Destici targets Özgür Özel: 'If by taking to the streets you mean...'
Speaking at his party's candidate introduction meeting, Great Unity Party (BBP) leader Mustafa Destici targeted CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Destici said, "If, after this call of yours to take to the streets, someone goes out and a single drop of blood is shed, windows are smashed, or shops are looted and pillaged, both the state and our legal system will and must hold those who made the call to take to the streets accountable."
Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici spoke at a candidate introduction meeting held in Akyazı, Sakarya.
Making statements regarding the current agenda, Destici stated that they would rid the streets of drug dealers, pickpockets, muggers, and stray dogs, and promised jobs for the youth, food for households, and a beautiful and comfortable life for the elderly.
Emphasizing that terrorism must be ended, Destici stressed that the fight against terrorism must be conducted by rooting it out completely.
"THERE CAN BE NO COOPERATION WITH THOSE KNOWN TO BE THE PARTY OF A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION"
Stating that alliances could exist in local elections, Destici continued as follows:
"There can be no cooperation with the extensions of a terrorist organization or with those known to be the party of an overt terrorist organization. They call their cooperation with the PKK and the PKK's party, or with the parties of TİKKO and DHKP-C, 'urban consensus.' They try to make it sound better while doing so, choosing words and sentences that sound pleasant, but the content is treachery and betrayal. You are doing this in Esenyurt, Istanbul; as the CHP, you are cooperating with the PKK's party. You withdraw your own candidate and put forward the candidate they dictate. You are doing the same in Mersin's Akdeniz district and other districts."
TARGETED ÖZGÜR ÖZEL
Directing criticism at CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, Destici said, "If by taking to the streets you mean holding rallies or conducting election campaigns, of course you can go out. But if by taking to the streets you mean something like the October 6-7 events, the Gezi protests, or the call made by the TİP, or if those who martyred our prosecutor Mehmet Kiraz are openly threatening our prosecutors and judges with death, then I repeat what I said before: if, after this call of yours to take to the streets, someone goes out and a single drop of blood is shed, windows are smashed, or shops are looted and pillaged, both the state and our legal system will and must hold those who made the call to take to the streets accountable. We will be the followers of this."
Addressing the public in the Yeni neighborhood of Hendek as part of his program, Destici also stated that the alliance did not cover all provinces and districts.
