Name on the verge of expulsion from CHP resigns
CHP Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır has announced his resignation from the party following the Central Executive Board's (MYK) decision to refer him to the Party Assembly (PM) with a request for permanent expulsion.
Internal debates within the Republican People's Party (CHP) have come to the agenda with a new development. Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır was referred to the Party Assembly by the CHP Central Executive Board with a request for permanent expulsion with precautionary measures. Shortly after the decision was announced, Çakır announced that he had resigned from his party.
REFERRED TO THE PM WITH EXPULSION REQUEST
CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre stated that the decision was made at the MYK meeting and spoke as follows:
“Mersin Deputy Hasan Ufuk Çakır has been referred to the PM by the MYK with the intention of permanent expulsion. The PM will make the decision.”
Emre emphasized that Chairman Özgür Özel has shown great tolerance toward criticisms within the party to date, using the following expressions:
“Our Chairman has long tried to understand and include in the process everyone who protests or reacts. However, some boundaries have been crossed. We are performing our duties according to the party charter. The MYK, as a requirement of this responsibility, decided to refer the deputy in question to the PM.”
