Nearly 6,000 candidacy applications filed in AKP: All eyes on the primary poll
In the AKP, where nearly 6,000 people have filed candidacy applications, all eyes have turned to the primary poll.
Nearly 6,000 candidacy applications were filed in the AKP ahead of the March 31 local elections.
Following the application process, which ended on November 22, the party organization has focused on polling efforts. In the primary poll to be held online across 81 provinces, approximately 160,000 AKP members will answer the question, "Who would you like to see as a candidate?"
According to the report on TRT Haber, commissions have been established in every province to ensure the primary poll is conducted transparently and impartially. The commissions include members of the Central Decision and Administrative Board and the Central Executive Board, as well as members of parliament.
The AKP's goal is to add new municipalities to the existing ones under the umbrella of the People's Alliance. To this end, the results of the primary poll, along with surveys and field studies, will be meticulously analyzed. The determined metropolitan, provincial, and district mayoral candidates will be announced to the public gradually.
