New call from İmamoğlu for a terror-free Turkey

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, in a statement on his social media account, stated that a commission should be established within the TBMM to achieve the goal of a terror-free Turkey.

İmamoğlu expressed that it is valuable for MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli to also make a call on this matter.

Following the PKK's decision to lay down arms, Ekrem İmamoğlu emphasized that a participatory and democratic process must be built under the guidance of the TBMM.

Stating that this process will succeed if it contributes to Turkey becoming a democratic country, İmamoğlu said, "Advancing toward the goal of a Terror-Free and Democratic Turkey that earns the trust of our nation is our responsibility to our history and our common future."

TRANSPARENT AND PARTICIPATORY WILL

Reminding that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had previously made a historic call on this issue, İmamoğlu drew attention to the importance of forming a "Terror-Free and Democratic Turkey Commission" with the participation of all parties represented in the TBMM. He stated that the work of this commission with a transparent and participatory will would contribute to fulfilling this historical responsibility.

Finally, İmamoğlu emphasized that they would continue to work decisively to protect the rights of citizens and the future of the country. He used the expressions, "Our nation should not worry at all; we will strongly demonstrate our firm will to gift them a Terror-Free and Democratic Turkey."
