New Constitution traffic in the Turkish Parliament to begin on April 16
Discussions on a new Constitution, insistently demanded by the People's Alliance in the Turkish Parliament, will begin on April 16, following the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
According to information obtained from AKP sources, the process of drafting a new constitution involves plans to solicit opinions from all political parties in Parliament regarding which topics should be included in the constitution and to establish a general framework.
Once the topics are determined, proposals regarding the articles under these headings will be requested from the political parties.
AKP sources emphasize that the new constitution should establish a clear and concise framework, consist of 90-100 articles, and that details should be included in laws to be prepared later.
Within the scope of the new constitution efforts, the traffic of meetings between political parties is expected to begin on April 16, after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
On the other hand, it is planned that proposals received from universities, non-governmental organizations, and various platforms regarding expectations for "what kind of constitution and under which headings" will be collected in a pool at the Turkish Parliament.
