New development in CHP Congress investigation: Witnesses claim they were 'offered money'

A new development has occurred in the investigation launched into the Republican People's Party (CHP) congress held last year. A party delegate and two CHP members who applied to the prosecutor's office with allegations of irregularities at the congress, where Özgür Özel was elected chairman, have given their statements.

CLAIM OF BEING OFFERED MONEY

The witnesses requested to testify anonymously, but the prosecutor's office did not accept this request. The three individuals who gave statements alleged that some delegates were offered money during the congress process in exchange for voting for Özgür Özel.

APPLICATION MADE TO COURT FOR CANCELLATION OF THE CONGRESS

One of the witnesses applied to the court for the cancellation of the congress due to the irregularities that occurred. Within the scope of the investigation, it was requested that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Akif Hamzaçebi also be heard as witnesses. However, Kılıçdaroğlu announced that he would not go to give a statement.
