New 'opening' process continues to cause unease within MHP: Another resignation follows

The process announced to the public by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli under the name "Terror-Free Turkey" continues to cause unease within the party's provincial organizations.

One such reaction came from Kocaeli. Aktuğ Metin Aldemir, one of the former executives of the MHP Körfez District Organization, announced his resignation from the party via a statement on social media.

"I AM NOT ABANDONING MY NATIONALIST STANCE, BUT I CANNOT REMAIN IN THIS PARTY"

In his statement, Aldemir emphasized that he would not be joining any other political party and would continue to maintain his nationalist-idealist line. "I am ending my membership in the Nationalist Movement Party, of which I was merely a simple member," said Aldemir, expressing that his resignation was an individual decision.

Aldemir voiced the disappointment behind his resignation by saying, "I am making this decision without giving anyone the right to judge or question it. I declare that our views have not changed, but I must state that this process has worn us out significantly and we no longer have any answers to give anyone."

Aktuğ Metin Aldemir, who resigned from the MHP, continued his remarks as follows:

"Those who think I am not a man of sufficient intellect should keep their own thoughts and ideas to themselves. As long as certain things do not change in this process, I wish success and patience to all my brothers and sisters who are involved in politics without holding any party membership. I declare that our views have not changed. However, I must state that this process has worn us out significantly and we no longer have any answers to give anyone. In this country, I have still not seen a Kurdish or Turkish problem. The problem lies with you and within yourselves. You made brother fight brother; you stood with those who fired bullets at babies in their cradles. Please, I do not want to receive even a single phone call regarding this matter. May what is rightfully ours be lawful, and may those who have a right to something grant their forgiveness."
