New regulations in healthcare! Passed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey discussed the "Bill on Amendments to Certain Laws Related to Health and Decree-Law No. 663." Following the deliberations, the bill was accepted.

According to the new regulation, dentists practicing independently will be able to employ other dentists in their oral and dental health clinics. Midwives will be tasked with providing counseling and educational services to families and the community regarding the protection of women's health, reproductive health, and childcare, as well as ensuring access to medical care and support during normal births and in high-risk situations. Additionally, emergency medicine specialists are being granted the opportunity to pursue sub-specialization in intensive care, and pediatric specialists are being granted the opportunity to pursue sub-specialization in social pediatrics.

The qualifications and conditions that must be met by legal entities involved in drug production and the marketing of drugs will be determined by the Ministry of Health. In this regard, the Ministry will have the authority to issue regulations.

Inspections to be conducted in pharmacies will be carried out by health inspectors, health directors, or official physicians or pharmacists appointed by the Ministry of Health or the provincial directorate.

With the regulation, in order to encourage sub-specialization, the additional payment provided for specialist physicians will be increased by 200 points for sub-specialists.

Universities will be able to conduct health practice and research activities by entering into affiliation protocols with training and research hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health. Contracts may be signed with faculty members for the execution of training and research activities and the provision of health services.

Under the regulation, permission must be obtained from the Ministry of Health for the use of human medicinal products and medical devices on humans for scientific research purposes, even if any treatment method has been approved or a license or permit has been obtained.
