No bureaucrats attended the opening of a rebuilt high school in Elazığ after Özgür Özel joined

The Gazi Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which became unusable following the 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Elazığ in 2020, has been opened as a modern campus after long-term renovation efforts. The initiatives of CHP Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erol and the resources and technical support provided by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality played a significant role in the reconstruction process.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who came to Elazığ for the opening ceremony, was accompanied by Shadow Minister of National Education Suat Özçağdaş, IMM Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan, Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, Ardahan Mayor Faruk Demir, and senior executives from several parties. Additionally, numerous mayors and party representatives from neighboring provinces also attended the ceremony.

However, the absence of Elazığ Governor Numan Hatipoğlu, Provincial Director of National Education Beraat Şahin, and other members of the provincial protocol from the ceremony did not go unnoticed. The lack of anyone from the state protocol at the ceremony caused surprise among the participants and the local public.

Governor Hatipoğlu's frequent public appearances during previous visits by AKP and MHP deputies, and the fact that the warm photos taken during MHP Elazığ Deputy Semih Işıkver's recent visit to a communication center were shared on the official accounts of the Elazığ Governorship, have sparked new debates in the public eye. Some citizens criticized the absence of high-level officials at the opening of an important educational institution on behalf of the state.

While the reopening of the school has created hope in the city, the lack of official protocol at the opening ceremony seems likely to be a topic of discussion for a long time.
