Notable moments at the key handover ceremony: Citizens kissed Erdoğan's hand
At the handover ceremony for earthquake housing in Hatay, President Erdoğan presented keys to the new homeowners. During the ceremony, citizens thanked Erdoğan and kissed his hand.
President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan spoke at the “455,000th Disaster Housing Lottery, Key Handover, and Collective Opening Ceremony for Completed Investments” in Hatay.
Following his speech, Erdoğan handed over keys to several earthquake survivors. Citizens who came up to the stage thanked Erdoğan. It was observed that the citizens who thanked Erdoğan also kissed his hand. After wishing them well, Erdoğan left the stage.
Erdoğan was also seen gently tapping a child on the back who had turned away while on stage. The child then turned to Erdoğan and kissed his hand.
In his speech in Hatay, Erdoğan stated the following:
"What does the poet say? ‘The world is a mill, everyone awaits their turn.’ In this world where our time is limited, we will keep the trust of our nation as if we are keeping a sacred watch. As long as you stand by us, we will not let this nation bow its head, and we will not let its hopes go to waste.
We are by your side, just as we were on February 6. We did not leave our disaster victims in despair for even a moment.
While we were working tooth and nail to heal the wounds, there were unscrupulous people who exploited the disaster of the century. There were those who insulted our earthquake victims just because they did not vote for them in the elections, and those who kicked them out of the guesthouses where they were staying. Look, none of them are around now, but we are here. We are with you. Just as we were on February 6, we are by your side. We did not leave our disaster victims in despair for even a moment.
After a terror-free Turkey, we will all together achieve a ‘terror-free region’ where the dark shadow of terrorism has completely disappeared. No one can prevent the construction of the new Turkey, the great Turkey.
Do not forget, the Tomb of Prophet Khidr is ours, and so is the Habib-i Neccar Mosque. The Vakıflar Village is ours, and so is the Moses Tree. The Tomb of Bayezid-i Bestami is ours, and so is the Great Mosque.
Turk, Arab, Kurd, Turkmen, Sunni, Alevi, Nusayri; we are all one, we are together. We are the thousand-year inhabitants of these lands. Hopefully, we will continue to live in peace, in tranquility, and within the law of neighborliness and brotherhood for many more centuries to come.”
