November 10 message from ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş has published a commemorative message on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the passing of the Eternal Commander-in-Chief, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The following statements were included in Mayor Yavaş's message:

“I commemorate the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with mercy, gratitude, and longing on the 86th anniversary of his departure from among us; I bow with respect before his cherished memory. 86 years ago, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk entrusted the Republic to our nation with great vision and determination. He is not only the founder of a state but also the symbol of our nation's struggle for independence and freedom, a hero of liberty. The capital, Ankara, is the heart of this sacred struggle and the address of the victory written with perseverance and faith. At every moment of the War of Independence, the fire of the Turkish nation's love for its homeland and passion for independence burned here. Ankara will continue to be the light of these lands and the Republic, and will continue on its path as a modern, contemporary, and strong capital in line with the foresight of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. We, too, are working day and night to keep this legacy alive and to crown the 101st year of our Republic with a stronger Turkey. We will work with all our might to uphold the gains of our Republic and to reach the level of contemporary civilizations envisioned by Atatürk. It is our duty to carry these lands, entrusted to us by our nation, to brighter tomorrows. It is our greatest duty to uphold the Republic, which the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk called his 'greatest work,' to protect his ideals and ideas, and to carry this sacred legacy into the future. With these feelings and thoughts, I once again commemorate the founder of our Republic and the leader of our country, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with respect and mercy, and I bow once again with respect before his cherished memory. This Republic, which he left as a legacy to us, will exist forever.”
