'Odd-looking' controversy in Ankara municipal council

During a meeting held at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Nihat Yalçın sparked controversy by remarking about citizens who came to watch the session, saying, "While Yavaş is coming, you also fill the stands with odd-looking people."

Yalçın's remarks caused discomfort among other council members and attendees.

In response to these words, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council Deputy Speaker Ertan Işık criticized Yalçın's statements, saying, "No one can belittle a servant created by God. Such comments made based on people's physical characteristics are a sign of arrogance." Işık emphasized that people should be treated with respect and stated that such expressions do not befit the council environment.
