Ömer Çelik reacts to Özgür Özel over joint declaration: 'Shameful'

Following the terrorist attacks in which 12 of our soldiers were martyred in two days, the AKP, MHP, IYI Party, and Saadet Party signed a joint declaration in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik reacted to the CHP's refusal to sign the joint declaration.

"IT IS SHAMEFUL TO SET CONDITIONS FOR SIGNING"

In a post on his X account, Çelik stated, "It is a shameful stance for CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to set conditions for signing the joint declaration in the Grand National Assembly that condemns terrorism. Instead of standing with our soldiers under the roof of the TBMM and condemning PKK terrorism, the CHP leadership has pursued other agendas by putting forward excuses."

Çelik continued his remarks as follows:

"This stance by the CHP leadership is a continuation of their political wavering regarding the motions that are essential for Turkey's national security.

The CHP leadership, which did not participate in the joint declaration in Parliament, was forced to issue a statement after seeing the reactions.

This stance by the CHP leadership is a confession for them.

This is a mentality that lacks a compass even on the most fundamental issues.

The CHP leadership is also in conflict with the high level of support and sensitivity of our citizens who are devoted to the CHP regarding the fight against terrorism.

Undoubtedly, our nation will make the best assessment of these ugly political calculations.

Terrorism is the enemy of our nation and all its values!

It is clear which centers feed the political plans behind PKK terrorism and what their goals are. Developments in our region show what they want to do. They will never reach their goals!

As our President has clearly stated many times, we have the strength and determination to fight them all."
