Operation at Şişli Municipality! Statement from Şişli Municipality regarding the reports

An investigation has been launched into the CHP-run Sarıyer and Şişli municipalities on the grounds that they 'provided financing to the terrorist organization DHKP-C through tenders between 2014 and 2016.' Within the scope of the investigation, raids were carried out at 34 addresses, and 32 suspects were detained.

While the repercussions of the operation continue, a statement has come from the Şişli Municipality.

Stating that this announcement was made to inform the public correctly about the operation, the following was said:

"It has been observed that some reports have been made in the press by bringing the corporate identity of Şişli Municipality to the forefront. There is a need to make a statement regarding these reports in order to inform the public correctly.

In the statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is the subject of the news, it is stated that detention warrants have been issued regarding some financial transactions alleged to have taken place between 2014 and 2016.

We have not received any information regarding the ongoing investigation, for which a confidentiality order has been issued. However, we are following the matter with sensitivity, and we would like to share with the public that we have the will to contribute to the fair and transparent conduct of the process.
