Operation in 7 provinces following absolute nullity ruling! 13 detainees identified
A simultaneous operation was carried out in 7 provinces as part of an investigation into the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress. 13 suspects were detained over allegations of interference with the voting will of delegates, and various materials were seized during searches.
13 people have been detained in an investigation into allegations that the voting process of delegates was interfered with during the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress.
The operation was conducted by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, coordinated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was stated that the suspects are being processed under charges of "violating the Law on Political Parties," "bribery," and "laundering assets derived from crime."
Within the scope of the investigation, simultaneous raids were carried out at designated addresses in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Şanlıurfa, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, and Malatya. During the operations, searches were conducted at the addresses, and some materials were seized.
It was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a statement regarding the investigation.
The full statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:
“Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding allegations of interference aimed at influencing the voting will of delegates at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party; as a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, 13 suspects evaluated to have committed the crimes of violating the law on political parties, accepting bribes, and laundering assets derived from crime have been detained, and search and seizure operations have been carried out at the suspects' addresses in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Şanlıurfa, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, and Malatya.”
13 DETAINEES IDENTIFIED
Finally, the identities of the 13 people detained as part of the investigation have been revealed. It was learned that the names in custody include the CHP Kilis Provincial Chair and the driver of CHP member Veli Ağbaba.
