Organizations had been dissolved: 7 provinces are next in the MHP after Istanbul
Political circles have become active following the dissolution of the MHP's Istanbul provincial and 39 district organizations. While there is talk within the party that the purge could expand, it is alleged that new steps are on the agenda regarding 7 provincial organizations that are claimed to have supported Yönter.
The duties of the MHP's Istanbul provincial organization and all 39 district organizations have been terminated. Following this decision, Volkan Yılmaz was appointed as the Istanbul Provincial Chairman.
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, this comprehensive change in Istanbul is not considered merely a local organizational arrangement, but rather a purge process carried out directly by the will of the Headquarters.
It has been claimed that allegations regarding Yönter making leadership plans for the post-Devlet Bahçeli era have caused discomfort within the party administration. In this context, it was stated that these assessments were effective in the background of Yönter's departure from his post.
Furthermore, claims that Yönter received support from Semih Yalçın during this process have also found their way into political circles. In internal party assessments, it was noted that a significant portion of the Istanbul organization was positioned close to Yönter, and that this situation was handled within the framework of "discipline," which was effective in the mass dissolution of the provincial and district organizations.
It was stated that these steps were taken to protect party discipline and clarify the hierarchical structure. Party sources reported that a significant portion of the names close to Yönter had previously been appointed by Semih Yalçın, and therefore the dismissal process was carried out through the same individual.
'NEW ADMINISTRATION IS TEMPORARY, THE GOAL IS THE CONGRESS'
It is stated that the new administration to be formed with Volkan Yılmaz, who was brought to the Istanbul Provincial Chairmanship, will not be permanent and will have the character of a temporary structure that will prepare the organization for the congress process. In this process, it is stated that the aim is to reorganize the organizational structure and form cadres compatible with the Headquarters' line.
7 PROVINCES ARE NEXT AFTER ISTANBUL
Another claim voiced in political circles is that the process will not be limited to Istanbul. It is stated that 7 other provincial organizations, which are alleged to have supported Yönter, are under review. In this context, it is stated that Kütahya is at the top of the list. There is talk within the party that new decisions for dissolution and dismissal may come to the agenda for similar reasons.
In assessments made in party circles, comments are being made that a purge process has begun against names thought to be taking positions regarding the post-leadership process in the MHP. It is stated that the step in Istanbul is one of the first and strongest moves of this process, and that similar developments may occur in the coming days.
