Özel's 'İmamoğlu' reaction to Erdoğan! 'He has been acquitted in the hearts of the nation'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding the current agenda at the Ataşehir Municipality Red Flag Project launch program.

Özel issued a call for the 'The Nation Protects Its Will' rally, which will be held in Silivri this evening at 20:30.

Drawing attention to the statements made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the PKK's 'dissolution' process, the highlights from CHP leader Özel's speech are as follows:

"They cannot come between us and our nation. They want the services of CHP municipalities to be disrupted. İmamoğlu has been acquitted in the hearts of the nation. You cannot convict him. We demand trial without detention. Conduct the trial on live television; I challenge you. We call it the Ataşehir alliance. We will carry our people to power."

Turks, Kurds, Alevis, let everyone be equal. We are consistent politicians; we stand where we are. Erdoğan says he appreciates me. He appreciates me for the process. Erdoğan thinks he will thank Bahçeli and give us appreciation. We will continue to defend peace. If you sell out the homeland, we are firmly against you."

RESPONSE TO HIS REMARKS ABOUT İMAMOĞLU

Özel responded as follows to the words President Erdoğan used in today's group meeting regarding the imprisoned Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu: "It is understood that it has reached dimensions that will threaten national security" he said:

"Today is the 55th day. And 55 days ago, Mr. Tayyip said to me: 'At the latest, in one month, they will not be able to show their faces in public.' Thank God, I am looking into the eyes of the people of Esatpaşa, I am among them. 'They will not be able to look each other in the face.' Look, all my mayors are side by side, we are looking into each other's eyes. Tomorrow I will visit Mayor Ekrem in Silivri, I will take your greetings. I will convey the greetings I received from your eyes while looking into Mayor Ekrem's eyes. What happened? 55 days have passed, what he said would happen 'in a month' never happened. 

But now he is saying something new today. He says: 'Sir, supposedly, they were going to prove it. Now a criminal organization has emerged. The head of this criminal organization is in Istanbul. Its arms are like an octopus in Anatolia. Some of its arms are abroad. It has emerged that they have even become a threat to national security.' 

What happened to it coming out within a month? What came out? What document came out? What information came out? You have only one hope; you are threatening people with their children and families and forcing them to become slanderers by saying 'be a confessor.' You couldn't even succeed in that."
