Özgür Özel: 'As long as Yavaş is on my right and İmamoğlu is on my left, no one can defeat us'

Inspecting the final preparations at the Istanbul House, which will open tomorrow, alongside İmamoğlu, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel evaluated the visit with the two mayors:

"There is nothing to hold a party congress over; we have been together from the very beginning. We will continue to be together from now on. As long as Mansur Yavaş is on my right and Ekrem İmamoğlu is on my left, no one can defeat this team. The team is here in full force; we watched the national team today, it was very enjoyable. Could the three of us ever be apart? Until we restore democracy to Turkey and make Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's party the government again, this trio will continue to work together."

"I BELIEVE YOUNG PEOPLE WILL STOP THE AK PARTY"

While complaining that the Instagram ban continues for Turks even in Paris, Özgür Özel emphasized his hope for young people in the upcoming elections:

"For those coming from Turkey, Instagram is blocked here too; you have to put in extra effort. Thanks to Mr. Tayyip, our phones are cursed; they don't work here either. We came here to Paris, and the only people whose Instagram doesn't work are the Turks; if you were in Turkey on the day it was shut down, your phone is somehow cursed. But it is a very shameful thing. It is not something that can be accepted; young people are very angry about this. I actually see the occurrence of such things as important in this sense: young people see the logic behind it. Those who ban festivals, those who ban concerts, those who impose accreditation on journalists if they report opposition news, those who don't let artists hold concerts if they don't support them, and so on—they have finally reached this point. In the last election, young people taught them a lesson, but they didn't understand. I hope that in the first upcoming election, young people will not just teach them a lesson, but will give them the ultimate penalty to make them quit these things by handing them their dismissal papers. I believe that in the next election, the young people who are currently voting or who will be voters in the next election will permanently stop Tayyip Erdoğan and the AK Party. What is closing Instagram compared to that? Young people will stop them from politics. Then we will see if I can be this serious here with the comfort of Paris and in these casual clothes."
