Özgür Özel asks for votes from IYI Party voters in Denizli: 'Polls show this...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel held a rally for candidate introductions and ahead of the March 31 local and administrative elections on 29 October Boulevard in Denizli. Mayoral candidates, party management, and a large number of citizens attended the rally. 

In his assessment, CHP Chairman Özel stated that the turnout in Denizli was a record. After criticizing the government for a while over retiree bonuses, Özel made an alliance request to IYI Party voters.

Stating that they supported the candidate of their alliance partner, the IYI Party, in metropolitan and district municipalities during the 2019 local and administrative elections, Özel said that he had voted for the IYI Party candidate in all 3 ballots in his hometown of Manisa. 

"IF THEY VOTE, CHP WILL WIN"

Expressing that he was making an alliance request to IYI Party voters clearly and plainly, Özel said, “The polls show this. If our former alliance partners vote for the CHP, the CHP will definitely win. But if they vote for another party, it is not the party they voted for, but the AK Party that wins in Denizli.

If you vote for another party, the municipality will be an AK Party municipality. If you vote for the CHP, the municipality will be your municipality too.

It will be the municipality of good people, it will be the municipality of nationalist democrats, it will be the municipality of conservative democrats. The doors of our municipalities will be wide open to IYI Party members, MHP members, AK Party members, CHP members, Kurds, Turks, and Circassians; they will all be your municipalities,” he said.

"THE DAY WILL COME WHEN WE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN"

Emphasizing that they could form an alliance with the IYI Party again, Özel said, “I am calling out to good people, to those who have the sun in their lapels, their hearts, and their eyes. Let us form an alliance of conscience at the ballot box on March 31. We could not form an alliance of politics in Ankara. I say that an old friend does not become an enemy.

I say the day will come when we are together again. I am calling out to all good people from here. Let us unite at the ballot box, let us send the AK Party away. This is my only request, my only wish.

The name of this alliance is the Denizli alliance. Its colors are green and black. The name of our alliance in Turkey is the alliance of hope against the People's Alliance (Cumhur İttifakı), its name is the Turkey Alliance. The Turkey Alliance is everyone who stands up when the national team scores a goal,” he said.
