Özgür Özel calls on DEM Party to attend martyrs' funerals

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Karar newspaper in Istanbul. Making statements on many political issues on the agenda, Özel also evaluated the commission established in Parliament and the ongoing process within the scope of the new opening process called 'Terror-Free Turkey'.

Stating that the current state of the process is in itself an achievement, Özel expressed that more progress will be made in the future.

CALL TO DEM PARTY REPRESENTATIVES FOR MARTYRS' FUNERALS

Özel also issued a call to DEM Party representatives. He stated that DEM Party representatives should attend the funeral ceremonies of the Turkish soldiers who were martyred in the plane crash in Georgia. He expressed this proposal by saying, "For instance, I hope that in this process, DEM representatives will attend the funeral ceremonies to be held for our soldiers who were martyred in the plane that crashed in Georgia."

Özel also criticized the AKP, saying, "The area I find most comfortable and yet most object to in AKP politics is this: They have the state conduct the Oslo talks, while they build the dual carriageways themselves. In this process, I expect those who build the dual carriageways to also visit İmralı, or to clarify the situation regarding İmralı. There is a situation where the good is attributed to the AKP and the bad to the state."
