CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has arrived in Istanbul for his party's anniversary. Özel, who will attend the wreath-laying ceremony at the Taksim Republic Monument at 14:00, was welcomed at the airport by CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik.
After stepping off the shuttle vehicle at the airport, Özel embraced Çelik and then shook hands with the CHP deputies and officials who came to welcome him.
TRUSTEE TEKİN IN THE OLD BUILDING
Meanwhile, trustee Gürsel Tekin is operating out of the former CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters building, which has been designated as Özel's office. The CHP had applied to the Court of Cassation to move the provincial headquarters to Bahçelievler and designated the building as Özel's office.
POLICE BLOCKADE
The police have had the building under blockade since yesterday. Individuals not on the 30-person list provided by trustee Tekin are not being allowed into the building.
