Özgür Özel met with Dilek İmamoğlu: He shared İmamoğlu's call for a primary election

CHP leader Özgür Özel visited Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of Ekrem İmamoğlu, for whom a detention order has been issued. 

Stating that the decision taken is a coup, Özgür Özel used the following expressions:  

'A coup is being staged against the future President. The faster we move, the faster they move.'

Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, stated that the operation was entirely political and noted the following: 

''Ekrem İmamoğlu's struggle will not stop. This will not stop us. This is a known political operation. It is an operation to intimidate the future President. We will fight. Because none of us will have security of life or property.''

'NO MATTER WHERE I AM, HOLD THE PRIMARY ELECTION' 

Finally, Özgür Özel recounted his conversation with Ekrem İmamoğlu before he was taken into custody:

We are preparing with all our friends for both the primary election and the worst-case scenario. When I messaged Mr. Ekrem before the operations, he said, 'No matter where I am, that primary election must absolutely be held.' I am also inviting all our party members to the election. I am inviting everyone to stand by Mayor Ekrem. We will stand arm in arm to protect Mayor Ekrem. Because the state and the police are not protecting Mayor Ekrem.

Now they are pitting the nation against the state once again. But as always, the winner will be the nation.

Mr. Tayyip went to prison for reading a poem. The CHP reopened the doors of politics for him. When it concerns the national will, it's fine; when it concerns someone else, they tear it down. No matter what they do, in the end, the will of the nation will prevail.
