Özgür Özel recounts phone call with Bahçeli: 'You never stop, take care of your health'
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding the agenda while in Manisa for Eid al-Adha visits. Özel shared notable details from his phone conversation with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who visited Manisa for Eid al-Adha, answered questions from journalist Saygı Öztürk regarding current political developments. Evaluating the solidarity among political parties, Özel stated that MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had specifically called him.
Özel conveyed that Bahçeli expressed his well wishes regarding his health during the conversation. He described the details of the phone call as follows:
"Political parties are showing great solidarity; many leaders have called. Devlet Bey started calling from the night before last, but almost all the chairmen are calling and offering support. This is very, very valuable.
Devlet Bey said, 'Özgür Bey, my chairman.' Then he said, 'You still never stop.' 'You got very wet.' First, he said, 'Today I followed İzmir first, then Manisa.' He said, 'You never stop.' He said, 'You got very wet the other day too.' He said, 'Take care of your health.' These were such well-intentioned things. He didn't say anything other than Eid greetings. It was a very polite phone call."
Such sincere and constructive dialogues between political parties stand out as one of the prominent aspects of the agenda during holiday periods. Özel's remarks show that mutual solidarity and human approaches carry meaning beyond political competition.
