Özgür Özel's response to Akşener's 'declaration of war': 'I am saying this to the IYI Party...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended an event in Nevşehir held to mark the 104th anniversary of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's arrival in Hacıbektaş.

Responding to journalists' questions after the event, Özgür Özel replied to IYI Party leader Meral Akşener's 'declaration of war' statement.

"WE ARE DECLARING PEACE TO EVERYONE"

"I will say this to those who are constantly expecting tension in politics and want the CHP to fight with the opposition," said Özel, adding, "In our understanding, opposition is directed against the government. We do not oppose the opposition. We do not argue with opposition parties. From the capital of peace, I am saying this to all opposition parties, to the IYI Party, and to the good people who are members of the IYI Party: We are declaring peace to everyone in Turkey from Hacıbektaş."

CALL TO ERDOĞAN REGARDING PALESTINE

Announcing that he will travel to Palestine in the coming days, Özel addressed AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating the following:

"Supporting Palestine cannot be done just by speaking words or condemning; it must be done through action. If you are going to do it, you will impose an embargo on Israel. I am calling out to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan once again from here. If you are sincere, I am going to Palestine in the coming days to support the Palestinian cause, to stand in solidarity with the State of Palestine, and to draw the world's attention to this place. If you have the courage, you will be with us in Palestine along with the leaders of all political parties in this country."
