Özgür Özel responds to claims of disagreement with İmamoğlu

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held in Silivri. Following the meeting, Özel addressed the "disagreement" claims that have recently surfaced in the public sphere, stating that he and İmamoğlu are acting in unison.

In a phone conversation reported in the column of Halk TV writer İsmail Saymaz, Özel provided details regarding their meeting.

RESPONSE TO DISAGREEMENT CLAIMS

In response to İsmail Saymaz's question, "What is the meaning of İmamoğlu's 'It's almost time' post, which was interpreted as a message about a new party? Are there differences or divisions between you and İmamoğlu regarding the founding date and ideological direction of a new party?", Özel replied:

"I am in complete agreement with Mayor Ekrem. We have no differences of opinion regarding the necessity of pursuing the legal battle to the end, continuing it as a political struggle, and taking further steps if no other options remain. Mayor Ekrem also states that the most correct approach is one where Mayor Mansur is involved, and where we are all together with Mayor Ekrem and will never be divided."

"WE ARE IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT"

In his statement, Özel emphasized that there is no disagreement with Ekrem İmamoğlu regarding the method of struggle, expressing that they have adopted a joint stance on following the legal process to the end and conducting the political struggle together. He further stated that the joint approach, which also includes Mansur Yavaş, will be maintained.
