Özgür Özel reveals results of latest polls on his desk! 'We shattered the glass ceiling...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel shared the results of the latest polls with the public during his speech at his party's Extraordinary Congress. Stating, "It shows that we would maintain the vote share we achieved in the local elections even if a general election were held today," Özel emphasized that the CHP continues to be Turkey's leading party.

Özel used the expressions, "The nation continues to make the CHP the number one party in all polls. As of the March average, the CHP is still Turkey's leading party today."

'WE SHATTERED THE 25 PERCENT GLASS CEILING'

Highlights from Özel's statements are as follows:

"The CHP is a party that achieved great development in a short time and granted many human rights to its citizens long before Western countries. It is the party that built the multi-party democratic regime. The CHP is the party of İsmet Paşa, who, after the first election he lost, was able to say that this defeat was a victory for Turkish democracy.

The nation, which made our party the leading party for the first time in 47 years in the March 31 elections, relegated the AK Party to the second party position for the first time in 22 years. Without forming an alliance with any party, our party entered the elections with the 'Turkey Alliance,' shattered the 25 percent glass ceiling that was said to be insurmountable, and became Turkey's leading party with 38 percent of the vote."

'WE REVITALIZED THE ORGANIZATION'

"We saw, and they saw, that an inclusive hand is carrying the CHP toward power with confident steps. Without ignoring the organization, without seeing it as a burden, by attributing the faults in the organization to ourselves and the praise to them, by strengthening the organization, and by rapidly warming up our party to the field, the streets, and the struggle together with them, we held countless rallies.

We held an education rally in Istanbul, a pensioners' rally to protest the lack of raises for retirees in Ankara, a tea rally in Rize, a wheat rally in Hayrabolu, a hazelnut rally in Giresun, a pistachio rally in Gaziantep, a farmers' rally in Manisa, and a labor rally in Gebze."

'CHP IS TURKEY'S LEADING PARTY IN ALL POLLS'

"A democracy test is passed when you lose. The ruling party has shown the whole world that it could not pass the test it failed after the elections it lost for the first time. They have engaged in an effort to intimidate both our municipalities and the opposition by using public power against their rivals.

They began to take steps in a planned and systematic way to establish a despotic regime. The nation continued to make the CHP the number one party in all polls. In the March average of all polls conducted before the Saraçhane process we experienced, the CHP is still Turkey's leading party today."
