Özgür Özel takes aim at Meral Akşener without naming her: 'The conscience you lack...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended a rally organized by his party in Bandırma to ask for votes for his mayoral candidates.

The rally at Republic Square was attended by CHP Balıkesir deputies Ensar Aytekin and Serkan Sarı, Balıkesir Provincial Chairman Erden Köybaşı, Bandırma Mayor Attorney Tolga Tosun, Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate Ahmet Akın, Bandırma Mayoral Candidate Dursun Mirza, Gönen Mayoral Candidate İbrahim Palaz, Manyas Mayoral Candidate Ahmet Duru, and Balya Mayoral Candidate Orhan Gaga.

"WE WILL PAY OUR DEBT TO YOU"

In his speech at the rally, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel criticized IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener and asked IYI Party voters to support Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate Ahmet Akın. 

Özel said, “Ahmet Akın was told, 'One day we will pay our debt to you.' We have tried very hard and negotiated, but the promises made were forgotten. I say that an old friend does not become an enemy, but I see someone with the same habits as Tayyip himself. We look each other in the face. How can you curse today those you praised yesterday? How can you spit on the face you kissed yesterday? How can you adopt the work you objected to yesterday with the language of the palace? A representative of a party that has done everything for you has come for such a gentlemanly candidate, and how can you hang a banner containing slander and insults in that square? Shame on you.”

Stating that Ahmet Akın made the greatest sacrifice in the previous local elections, Özel said, “If some people are now taking a stance against him instead of paying their debt from years ago, the conscience and fairness you lack exist in the good people of the IYI Party. 

I am asking for their votes, I swear to God. I call Ms. Meral 'sister,' and I will continue to call her 'sister' for the rest of my life. I will continue to show love and gratitude to the good people of the IYI Party, those who have the sun in their hearts and eyes, for the rest of my life.

I will neither sacrifice the good people nor my party to the arrogance of a few AK Party remnants who have bounced over here and become valuable. Are you ready to support Ahmet Akın next Sunday?” he stated.
