WHAT HAPPENED?
Özel, who was the CHP Group Deputy Chairman at the time, had used the following expressions during his press conference at the Parliament:
"Recep Tayyip Erdoğan calls the opposition the 'fifth column.' This has no place in democracy. You come to power through democracy, and at the end of 18 years, you take refuge in the rhetoric of the Spanish dictator Franco. Shame on you! Following these statements, President Erdoğan had filed a compensation lawsuit worth 250 thousand Turkish Lira.
