Polling firm reveals: Is the AKP's vote increase in December linked to developments in Syria?

Özer Sencar, founder of the renowned polling company Metropoll Research, has explained the reason for the increase in AKP votes in December. Sencar shared the results of their research regarding the government's Syria policy.

Regarding the survey, Sencar commented, "The reason for the increase in AKP votes in December is the developments in Syria. In January, we will likely see the impact of the salary increases given to retirees and employees."

The "Pulse of Turkey" December research conducted by Metropoll Research between December 14-21 involved 1,202 people across 28 provinces.

Participants in the survey were asked, "How do you evaluate the government's Syria policy in general?"

The rate of those who found it very successful was 11.1 percent, those who found it successful was 30.7 percent, those who found it unsuccessful was 36.2 percent, and those who found it very unsuccessful was 12.1 percent. The rate of those who said they had no opinion was 9.9 percent.

In total, the rate of those who found the government's Syria policies successful was 41.8 percent, while 48.3 percent stated that they found them unsuccessful.
