Following the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Convention, Özgür Özel, who was re-elected as chairman, shared a post on his social media account regarding the convention. Thanking the party delegates, Özel noted the following in his assessment:
"Today, I thank every one of our delegates for their courage and belief in standing up for our party, our ancestral home, against the March 19 coup attempt. I offer my endless gratitude to this great family that has once again elected us to the position of Chairman, and to the tireless soldiers of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the Republic. We will walk this path together with determination, without leaving anyone behind and without forgetting anyone. We will not stop until our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu regains his freedom and until the ballot box is placed before the nation."
