Poverty wage passes committee: MHP members also provided support
The 20,000 lira pension, which MHP Chairman Bahçeli described as a "poverty wage," has passed the committee with the support of MHP members.
It has been learned that the AKP's proposal to set the lowest pension at 20,000 lira has passed the committee with the support of the MHP. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had previously described a pension at this level as a "poverty wage."
CHP MP Salih Uzun stated that the proposal would not have passed the committee without the MHP members. Uzun made the following post regarding the issue on his social media account:
HOW DID THE POVERTY PENSION PASS THE COMMITTEE?
Plan and Budget Committee member distribution:
Total number of members: 31
AKP: 15
CHP: 7
DEM: 3
MHP: 3
İYİP: 2
Y.YOL: 1
Without the support of the MHP, the AKP would not have been able to secure a majority and the proposal would not have passed. Uzun stated that the same situation would occur in the General Assembly.
