President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announces Ankara candidates: Election manifesto date set

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is speaking at his party's Ankara District Mayoral Candidate introduction meeting at the ATO Congresium.

Highlights from Erdoğan's speech:

"God willing, we will announce our election manifesto on Tuesday, January 30. We are counting the days to bring Istanbul back to its vision. I also sincerely believe that Ankara will enter its golden age. Since the day it was founded, the AK Party has been a party that has come forward with ambitious projects in every general and local election. I am addressing my nation from here. It is not possible for the opposition to provide the success that our central government and local government will provide in the services they will offer to our nation.

They have no concern for bringing works to our cities. They cannot find time to produce projects due to their internal conflicts, rent-seeking disputes, and cooperation with the country's enemies. Our cities have been devastated in the hands of the incompetent who build all their game plans on lies and perception. Note that I am not talking about those who could not fulfill some of the things they promised for various reasons, but about those who did nothing even though they remained in power for years. Although, it is not correct to say they did nothing. They put on plenty of shows.

We are now counting the days. Are we ready to go door to door? Are we ready to walk the streets of Ankara with shouts of victory on the evening of March 31? When we put our hand on our conscience, this is what we see; I am talking about years spent without works and services. Our nation will hold them accountable for this at the ballot box.

What others do is of no importance to us. Let them reduce politics to a simple mathematical equation. We will focus on our work.

ADDITIONAL RAISE FOR RETIREES

As of January 2024, we will apply the 6-month increase rate for our SSK and Bağkur retirees' pensions as 49.25 percent. As our state's resources increase, we will ensure that our retirees, who have dedicated their lives to serving our country, benefit from this.
