President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's 'coupon municipality' statement: 'CHP's priority agenda...'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at a rally in Giresun.

While criticizing the CHP and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel with harsh language, Erdoğan claimed that "the CHP is making efforts to drag the country into war."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"THE CHP AND ITS PARTNERS MADE GREAT EFFORTS TO DRAG US INTO WAR"

"Our brothers and sisters in Giresun have always supported us with vote rates above the Turkey average. I express my gratitude to Giresun, which supported us with 61 percent on May 14 and a rate approaching 65 percent on May 28. May God be pleased with you all. We have another very critical election ahead of us. We will go to the polls again in 45 days. This time, we will determine the staff who will manage our provinces, districts, and towns. We will work harder than ever. Main organization, are you ready for this? Women's branches, are you ready for this? Youth, are you ready for this? I see that Giresun has already made its decision.

The region is going through painful days. The war between our two neighbors on the other side of the Black Sea is about to complete its 2nd year. Tens of thousands of people have died in the Russia-Ukraine war. We faced serious difficulties due to the excessive increase in global economy, energy, and food prices. During the periods when natural gas prices reached their peak, we saw days where lamps were removed in some European countries, combi boilers were turned off, and government offices distributed blankets to their employees. In my country, natural gas continued in the same way.

Turkey is one of the countries that has managed all difficult processes most successfully. During the pandemic period, we did not compromise on production or employment. Thanks to our strong and modern health infrastructure, we did not leave any of our citizens helpless. In the Ukraine-Russia crisis, instead of pouring gasoline on the fire, we tried to extinguish the fire. The CHP and its partners made great efforts to drag us into war. By inventing something called axis shift, they tried many ways to include Turkey in the war on someone's side. Finally, in the May 14-28 elections, they took their claims so far as to blame Russia with baseless allegations. We did not give credit to the opposition's warmongering. We looked at issues not through the eyes of Westerners, but from the perspective of our nation. We said, 'Whatever you say, that is what we will do.'

"LIKE A MASTER CHESS PLAYER..."

Time has proven us right and the opposition wrong again. Today, when we put our hands on our conscience and take stock, we understand much better how prudent we acted. The peace of the Black Sea has not been disturbed. The spark of the fire in our region did not jump to our country. No incident occurred that would disturb all our provinces in the Black Sea or put them in a difficult situation in terms of economy and security. We neither fell for the opposition's provocation nor fell into the trap of Western powers. Like a master chess player, we did what we had to do. Today, we take every step we take on a Turkey-centered basis.

AID TO GAZA DURING RAMADAN

We are making efforts to ensure there are no new tensions. We have only one goal in foreign policy. That is to increase the number of our friends as much as possible. Instead of getting stuck on disagreements, we have to focus on areas of cooperation. There is no mercy without unity. If we want to prevent Israel's massacres, we need to tighten our ranks with our brothers. Our visits to the UAE and Egypt were very successful in this regard. We discussed the Palestine issue in detail. We acted in coordination with Egyptian authorities in delivering investments to Gaza. We have dispatched more than 34 thousand tons of aid materials to the region. Ramadan is approaching. Israel's massacres are increasing. Israel, which cannot break the resistance and fighting spirit of the people of Gaza with bombs, is forcing Gazans to surrender through hunger. It is our duty of brotherhood to provide more aid to Gaza during Ramadan. We will act together with Egypt.

"THE CHP'S INEXPERIENCED CHAIRMAN..."

The CHP and its cronies do not understand these sensitivities of ours. On their agenda, there is neither the brutality in Gaza nor the occupation and destruction in Palestine. The CHP management is not interested in any of the crises. You see what they are busy with. The CHP's inexperienced chairman, the former chairman, and those who manage from behind the scenes have as their priority agenda the issue of whose man will manage the 'coupon municipalities.' While we take our steps in foreign policy, we do not look at the opposition, which is incapable of even seeing what is in front of them. We look at our nation.
