President Erdoğan speaks in Hatay: 'Terrorist organizations will not be able to use us as pawns'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke in Hatay. Erdoğan said, "For many centuries to come, we will continue to live together as 85 million people on these lands in brotherhood, without distinguishing between Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Alevis, or Sunnis. We will certainly build a Turkey where there is no terrorism, no violence, and where peace, democracy, and brotherhood prevail."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"Turkey experienced the disaster of the century in the truest sense on February 6. We were shaken by an earthquake that released 15 times more energy than the earthquake in Haiti. This earthquake caused great destruction in 11 of our provinces, especially in our Hatay. As some of our brothers and sisters expressed that day, we experienced sorrow and helplessness. Even though the pain in our hearts and the destruction we experienced were immense, we always kept our hope alive. Immediately after the earthquake, we started the construction of 180 thousand houses in 3 months. We turned our 11 provinces into the world's largest construction site. 160 thousand architects, engineers, and worker brothers and sisters are working at 1,900 construction sites and in 4,333 of our villages. We have tendered 350 thousand 430 houses and workplaces. We have delivered 101 thousand 254 of them, 18 thousand 404 of which are in Hatay. Today, we are drawing the lots for a total of 29 thousand 311 more of our homes and delivering them to their rightful owners. We are experiencing the joy of handing over the keys to our 130 thousandth disaster housing unit. I wish our new homes to be auspicious. We have a total of 152 thousand 959 rightful owners in Hatay. There are 442 thousand 709 rightful owners in 11 provinces. This year, we will deliver 201 thousand 688 more of our houses and workplaces. By the end of 2025, we will have delivered 452 thousand 958 houses, workplaces, and barns.

"THERE WILL BE NO RIGHTFUL OWNER LEFT WITHOUT A HOME"

Whatever the agenda of others may be, the primary agenda of our government and our alliance is to quickly reunite our earthquake victims with their new homes. (Earthquake region) So far, we have tendered 350 thousand 430 of our houses and workplaces. In 2026, 450 thousand houses will have been delivered. There will be no rightful owner left without a home.

We see how countries called developed struggle in smaller disasters. We see the organizational capacity of our state. Our determination to rebuild our cities as soon as possible is visible. We say a stronger Anatolia again, we say a great and strong Turkey, that is why we say the Century of Turkey. Neither the terror barons who feed on blood and tears, nor the servants of imperialism, nor terrorist states... None of these can stop the Century of Turkey.

"WE THINK A THOUSAND TIMES AND SPEAK ONCE"

We evaluate issues not with half a century of experience like others, but with a deep-rooted memory of 2,200 years. We think a thousand times and speak once. As the government and the alliance, we take everything into account. We will walk towards our goals by breaking the traps set. By using all the means available in our country, we will build a Turkey where there is no terrorism or violence, and where peace, democracy, and brotherhood exist. For many centuries to come, we will live together as brothers on these lands, without distinguishing between Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Alevis, or Sunnis. Terrorist organizations will not be able to use us as pawns, they will not be able to set an ambush for our eternal brotherhood, they will not be able to sow seeds of discord, they will not be able to break our brotherhood. I pray that the Lord may be our helper and supporter.
